Growing up in rural NSW, surrounded by cattle and sheep stations, I have a passion for this land, its people and stories, its rich culture, and how this culture is strongly intertwined in the landscape. My aim is to take you on a journey of discovery and share the connection between culture and country, to leave you with an understanding of this special place that I am fortunate enough to call home.
Focusing on Reptiles, Matt’s passion for Crocodiles and venomous snakes’ sky rocketed as he learned firsthand the complexities of such misunderstood creatures. Matt has since shifted his career to Tour Guiding, an opportunity where he can share his ‘Backyard’ with people from all over the world. You can find Matt trekking, cruising and climbing his way through some of the most unique natural places in the world as he attempts to find some of the world’s most fascinating creatures.
With his partner, Janine Duffy, Roger founded Echidna Walkabout Nature Tours in 1993. He's been guiding wildlife tours across Australia for 35 years. Before that he worked as a conservation activist and journalist and is passionate about the role conservation can play in tourism. His favourite phrase is: “Help Nature while you Enjoy it”
An enthusiastic conservationist and often found volunteering for various marine organizations in the Byron Shire where she resides when not traveling and working on the Great Barrier Reef. Susy is proudly a CoralWatch Ambassador and Reef Check Australia Surveyor spreading the word about conservation of our oceans.

After 15 years teaching across Australia, the UK, South Korea and Taiwan, Scott embraced guiding in 2010. His adventurous spirit and extensive world travels - which included seeking out unique wildlife, climbing rugged mountains, and volunteering at wildlife rehabilitation centers in the Amazon and Canada - prepared him perfectly for his newfound vocation. These experiences now make Scott a highly respected Guide Trainer, specialising in Wildlife tourism across the country.
Martin has unparalleled experience as a wildlife guide. He’s guided wildlife tours for 3 decades in Australia and on safaris in Africa. His love is birds but he has a profound knowledge of all forms of fauna, flora and landscapes right across Australia and Africa. Martin is one of Australia’s most knowledgeable & enthusiastic wildlife guides.
Corey is is a seasoned enthusiast, who has passionately delved into the world of paleontology at the Eromanga Natural History Museum for seven enriching years. With extensive hands-on digging experience, Corey has honed expertise in unearthing fossils and contributed significantly to the museum's scientific endeavors. His dedication and knowledge make him a valuable asset in the field of paleontology.
Dr Asia Haines is an Australian marine scientist with a particular passion for the conservation of threatened species, especially sharks and rays. Asia has been with Project Manta for over a decade, and looks after the community engagement and outreach, and manages the east coast sighting database. Asia frequently represents Project Manta in the field and at events promoting the projects research. She takes part in research trips to Lady Elliot Island multiple times a year and has conducted research at numerous aggregations sites for manta rays in both Australia and abroad. Asia completed her Honours research with Project Manta, looking at manta ray feeding aggregations at Lady Elliot Island, and has since completed her PhD on the spatial ecology of manta rays. Her interests lie in improving our understanding of manta ray critical habitat selection and use, as well as examining the threats facing these animals, with the view to improving their conservation status. In recent years, Asia has also joined the IUCN Shark Specialist Group on their Important Shark and Ray Area project to assist with mapping critical habitats for sharks and rays globally
