Discover the serene Aire 'Heritage’ River, a perfect spot to savour your packed lunch and soak in the coastal beauty. The pace may vary depending on tides and the group's rhythm, making this a delightful 2-3 hour coastal exploration. Day 4

MILANESIA GATE TO MOONLIGHT HEAD CARPARK - 12km

Start your day with a tasty breakfast and pack a self-serve lunch to keep you fuelled for the next leg of your coastal adventure. Get ready for another day of exploration as we pick you up and transfer you to Milanesia Gate. The trail starts by descending onto the rugged shoreline of Milanesia Beach. Stop and marvel at the stunning rock formations and think of Charles Joseph La Trobe who was ordered by his superintendent in 1846 to find a route from here to Cape Otway through this rugged landscape! As the track rises back to the cliff tops you are presented with outstanding views from the coastal forests, high on the sea cliffs. Take the time to look back at how far you have already walked, and rest at Ryan's Den campground. But, before you leave, be sure to check out some of the campsite locations for some amazing views. Walking on you will pass the ‘Lost Apostle’ – a rather phallic rock formation standing surprisingly all alone. You will likely see more wildlife here than before with wallabies, kangaroos and echidnas rustling in the bushes. Day 4 promises a perfect blend of coastal exploration, wildlife encounters, and culinary delights. Walking Distance today: 12km, moderate

Day 5

TOUR OF WRECK BEACH & WALK FROM PRINCETOWN TO THE 12 APOSTLES VIA GIBSON STEPS BEACH - 10km

Begin your final day with a satisfying breakfast and a tasty packed lunch for the day's adventures. Your bags will be securely stored in our trailer, leaving you unburdened for the day. Rise and shine early as we pick you up for an unforgettable day of exploration. On the final day, your adventure takes you deeper into the region's rich maritime history. Wander through the Sheoak trees and descend to Wreck Beach, where remnants of shipwrecks, such as the 'Fiji' and the 'Marie Gabrielle,' emerge from the sand. Ponder the lives lost at sea and continue hiking inland through stunning and varying vegetation looping back to your transportation where you will be taken to Princetown, to begin your final hike of this memorable journey. (Please note if the tide is too high or there is large swell, and time permits, you will be whizzed off to Loch Ard Gorge at the end of your days walk instead. This is still a great option). As the track ascends, catch your first glimpse of the iconic 12 Apostles in the distance, a captivating sight that grows in grandeur with each step. Experience the changing vegetation as you traverse the scrub wedged within the rocky limestone. If tides permit, descend the famous 'Gibsons Steps' and witness the 12 Apostles from a unique sea-level perspective. Finally, revel in your accomplishment as you celebrate at the official 12 Apostles viewing platform, capturing the beauty of this iconic landmark. As your Great Ocean Walk adventure concludes, relish the memories during your transfer from Apollo Bay to Melbourne CBD. While the day's journey concludes, the memories will endure. No dinner or accommodation is included for this evening. Your Great Ocean Walk adventure has reached its grand finale, leaving you with a treasure trove of memories! Walking Distance today: 10km, moderate.
