Aboriginal Culture
You will visit the Hermannsburg Historic Precinct where the Lutherans set up a mission in 1877. You will be guided through the site by a Traditional Owner of the area. A mission that operated for 150 years, a people that owned this country for millennia, foreign colonists under resourced and struggling in the harsh Australian outback, a history of frontier violence and sanctuary, years of drought and illness and heartbreak, enduring friendships and a community that continues to grow and evolve in response to the changes in the world around them; there are many stories to be told about Hermannsburg, some you will experience on this visit.

Itinerary
Day 1
Alice Springs & the West Macdonnell Ranges
After picking you up from your hotel in the morning you will enjoy a short sightseeing tour of Alice Springs including a stopover at the ANZAC Hill lookout. You will hear stories about famous sights like the Old Telegraph Station, the School of the air and Flying doctors services. Afterwards, depart Alice Springs for Simpsons Gap in the Western MacDonnell Ranges National Park (Tjoritja), where you might spot cute rock wallabies during a short walk. Afterwards relax at Ellery Creek Big Hole, the secret site for Arrernte people and a popular outback swimming spot. At Standley Chasm will enjoy our lunch. Experience the Ghostgum Walk at Ormiston Gorge. Finish the day while setting up camp at Woodland Campground, Redbank Gorge, and enjoying a well deserved cooked dinner. Meals: Lunch, Dinner
