Join us on an exclusive and luxurious 5 Day Outback camping adventure while visiting the Highlights of the Red Centre in style. You will be spoilt by your experienced guides who have been living in this part of Australia all their life - they will provide you with stories about the indigenous people in this area, geology, history, wildlife and generally life in the Outback. This is a luxurious camping experience as you will travel in small 4WD Toyota Landcruiser as part of a very small group of max. 8 people. This is not just your average camping experience but we will stay in hand-picked and stunning places where you can only get access by special invitations and personal connections. You will sleep in the best & safest camping equipment available for comfortable outdoors activities, using ARB Dome swags. One of the main focus of this tour is the rich Aboriginal culture and breath-taking scenes which inspired watercolour artist Albert Namatjira to paint from his home base of Hermannsburg, which we will also visit. Indulge and bring your sense of adventure and discover the Outback in style!
You will visit the Hermannsburg Historic Precinct where the Lutherans set up a mission in 1877. You will be guided through the site by a Traditional Owner of the area. A mission that operated for 150 years, a people that owned this country for millennia, foreign colonists under resourced and struggling in the harsh Australian outback, a history of frontier violence and sanctuary, years of drought and illness and heartbreak, enduring friendships and a community that continues to grow and evolve in response to the changes in the world around them; there are many stories to be told about Hermannsburg, some you will experience on this visit.
