Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kangaroo Island

Make your way to Kangaroo Island and settle in for a busy few days of discovering the best it has to offer.

Day 2

Cygnet Park Habitat Restoration & Sea Lions

Begin with bird banding at Cygnet Park alongside a BioR ecologist, spotting species like the endangered glossy black-cockatoo. Explore Stokes Bay’s hidden beach, then take a private tour among Australian sea lions at Seal Bay.

Day 3

Flinders Chase National Park

Visit a private wildlife refuge in the island’s north-west to check wildlife surveys and learn about endangered mammals. Continue into Flinders Chase National Park to explore fire-adapted bushland and the south-west peninsula, including Cape du Couedic, Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, and a long-nosed fur seal colony.

Day 4

Cape Gantheaume Coastal Hike

Meet a local entomologist in D’Estrees Bay working to save the endangered green carpenter bee, then visit Point Tinline’s historic osprey nest. Hike the clifftops of Cape Gantheaume Conservation Park, spotting coastal wildlife and migratory shorebirds at Wheatons Beach.

Day 5

Farewell Kangaroo Island

After breakfast, transfer to the airport or ferry at Penneshaw for your onward journey.
