About This Tour

Explore one of the world's great wildlife destinations on this immersive six-day small group birding tour through Australia's Wild Top End. From the vast tropical wetlands of Kakadu and the ancient sandstone escarpments of Arnhem Land to the monsoon forests of Litchfield and the world-class wader habitats of Darwin's coastal foreshore, this tour covers the most important birding sites in the Northern Territory with the depth and pace that serious wildlife enthusiasts deserve.

Led by expert naturalist guides, the tour combines exceptional birdwatching with rich cultural experiences — Aboriginal rock art, an Arnhem Land boat tour, and an intimate understanding of one of Australia's most ancient and significant landscapes. With wildlife lists that regularly exceed 150 species across the six days, including sought-after targets such as the Gouldian finch, chestnut-quilled rock-pigeon, red goshawk, and chestnut rail, this is a tour designed for those who want to experience the Top End at its most extraordinary.

Who Is This Tour For?
Who Is This Tour For?

This tour is ideal for dedicated birdwatchers, wildlife photographers, and nature enthusiasts with a genuine passion for avian diversity and wild landscapes. Some birding experience is helpful though not essential — the pace is relaxed and unhurried, with expert guides on hand to assist identification at every stop. A moderate level of fitness is required, as some days involve walking on uneven natural terrain. Expect hot and humid tropical conditions typical of the Top End in the dry season, with early morning starts most days.
